You must first create a user on the ETS website and proceed to register for the TOEFL IBT test. IBT means Internet Based Test. TOEFL paper-edition is not offered in Norway.

Remember to bring a valid government issued ID,  like your passport. Otherwise you will not be allowed to test. If you are a Norwegian citizen, we will also accept your driver’s license or national ID card. Other nationalities should bring a passport for checking in. Bank cards are not accepted as valid id.

No food or drinks are allowed in the testing room, but you may eat or drink at the test center before and after the test. Remember, there are no breaks!

You do not need to bring pen and paper or your laptop. We provide all the necessary equipment.

• You will be asked to read and sign a confidential agreement document before you can take the test.

• We will take a picture of you and you will be asked to read a short script in English.

• We provide lockers where you must store all your belongings, including your switched off mobile phone.

• Before entering the testing room we will ask you to show us your sleeves, ankles and the inside of your pockets.

• We will scan you with a metal detector (terribly sorry about this!)

• When all candidates have been checked-in, we will give you particular test instructions.

• At the end of the test you will receive the preliminary results for the Reading and Listening components.

• Finally, you will be asked to fill out a short survey (5 questions)

We recommend you use only ETS certified material to prepare for the test.

• Find practice tests and other official resources here.

• For more tips, follow the TOEFL iBT channel on Youtube.

You have to take contact directly with ETS for these and other enquiries through the ETS website.

At the end of the test you will get your preliminary scores for the Reading and Listening sections.

Your official scores for all sections will be available on your profile at the ETS website three days after your test. You can download a .pdf with your scores one to two days after you get your scores, which are valid for two years.

You can read and understand more about your scores here.
